As a result of a recent incident at the KEVI track, currently being investigated by the club and the school, we timely remind club members of the following protocols with regard to our facility use.
It is disappointing to have once again to remind all members of Morpeth Harriers of rules relating to track usage. However, following concern expressed to the club by KEVI today about an individual - wearing only shorts - who accessed the track during the school day by climbing over the fence, and then also passed over his bike, can we AGAIN remind ALL members of track access regulations:
- being a member of Morpeth Harriers does NOT allow you to use the track at any time of the day.
- the track is NOT available during school hours, ie between 8 am and 5 pm. This is a Safeguarding issue.
- under no circumstances should members try and access the track by climbing over the fence. This represents trespass - as well as being completely unnecessary given the times the track is available to the club for free.
- individuals who persist in illegal access of this kind and who continue to ignore reasonable requests from the club not to do so will face disciplinary action from the club.
By Order of
David Swinburne
(Chairman, Morpeth Harriers & AC)
And on behalf of its Committee.
