The first day of the combined Northern Athletics Under 20 and Senior Track and Field Championships, held at Derby’s Moorways Stadium on Saturday, brought two Gold Medals for athletes from Morpeth Harriers.
In the Senior Women’s Triple Jump, Charlotte Earl produced a best of 11.19m to take the title, and new club member Darcey Tullis, triumphed in the Under 20 Women’s 1500m, posting a winning time of 5m01.16s.
Also on day one, Under 20 Man Bertie Marr competed in the 1500m final, finishing sixth, posting a season’s best time of 4m08.79s.
Two more medals came the way of Morpeth Harriers on day two, when Alistair Douglass won a Silver in the Senior Men’s 800m, posting a time of 1m56.24, this was after qualifying from the earlier heats as seventh fastest with 1m58.20s.
The other day two medallist was Under 20 Man Joseph Close, who won Bronze medal in his 800m, in a time of 1m57.06s, after qualifying as second fastest from the earlier heats, with a time of 1m59.82s.
