NESDL AND NEYDL - FINAL FIXTURES INFORMATION

The weekend of 18th and 19th July sees the completion of Track and Field fixtures for Morpeth Harriers & AC Senior (NESDL), and Young Athletes (NEYDL) for the 2026 season.

Both sets of fixtures are scheduled to be held at Shildon 2000 Stadium, Shildon Sunnydale Leisure Centre, Middridge Lane, Shildon, DL4 2EP

The club’s Senior Team, both Men and Women, are already confirmed champions of Division 2, and are hoping to go out on a high, and a fourth consecutive team victory would be just the result to do that.

They currently sit with a total of eighteen points at the top of the table, with the closest rivals to them South Shields/Birtley in second place with twelve points, with a margin of actual match points, just below three hundred.

Senior Team Manager George Patterson has managed to put a decent squad together for the final match, in both the Men and Women’s section, however, there are as always, still some gaps to be filled, and its people on start lines that bring the required points.

Hoping to boost the Senior performance at Shildon is Jack Roach, who is one of the UK’s leading performers nationally, primarily in the Long Jump, where he has a ranked personal best of 7.83m/7.88 wind assisted, which sees him currently as Number 9 in the country.

Morpeth bred and born, this will be his actual first appearance for his hometown club in league competition, and Patterson is eagerly looking forward to seeing his prize asset in action for the first time.

George Patterson can be contacted on 07801734806 or Email morpethharriers@aol.com .

Three points below them in eighth place are Tynedale/Prudhoe.

Sharing fifth and sixth places with eleven league points each, are Blaydon/Wallsend/Gosforth, and Birtley/Jarrow & Hebburn/Phoenix Flyers.

Morpeth Young Athletes Team Manager David Swinburne is currently looking for athletes to compete in the three age groups Under 14, Under 16, and Under 18 both Male and Female.

David can be contacted on 07929764515, or Email d.swin@tiscali.co.uk.

As with the Senior Team, for the Young Athletes, it’s people on start lines who bring forth the points.
