Fell Em Doon 5 miler
There were 123 finishers at last Wednesday night’s Fell Em Doon 5 mile race, held over much of the two-lap course in Ashington Community Woodland on the same territory as the Saturday parkrun.
Ian Harding was 1st home, the now Over 40 vet clocking 27 minutes 22 seconds for a comfortable win. Steph Maclean Dann of NSP was 4th and 1st Female in 32:14.
Also turning out for the club were: Jamie Johnson, 6th in 32:32 and also 1st O/50; Richard Glennie, 12th in 34:46; Jane Kirby, 20th and 1st O/50 in 37:07; Fran Robson, 61st in 44:37.

DK Mile 
There was only one Morpeth vest on show in the following Friday’s DK mile on the Blyth sea front, Neil MacAnany back in competitive action after a long spell off with injury and recording a time of 6:01 in 14th place.

Dunfermline QA 5k 
Meanwhile triathlete Millie Breese, now studying in Leeds, recorded a big 5k pb in Scotland at the weekend, clocking 17:15 in her race at the Queen Anne High School in Dunfermline.

Powburn Show 
The Northumberland Autumn Show season got under way at the weekend, with Powburn hosting the fell race over a revamped course from the land opposite the petrol station on the A697.
Morpeth’s Tom Prentice was a winner in a time of 39:18, with teenager Steven Craske running well for 17th place in 48:04.
 
Darlington 10k 
Biggest event of the weekend was undoubtedly the annual Darlington 10k, however, with over 1700 finishers pounding the streets of the town on Sunday morning.
With a generous prize list the race has always attracted a quality field from sundry climes, and this year was no exception with Leeds City AC athlete Graham Rush 1st back in 20:26 and Liverpool Pembroke Sefton Harriers and AC Kirsty Longley 1st Female in 35:09.
Alex Brown was 6th in 32:31, while there were three members of the Macdonald family running, Alistair (41:05 and 4th O/60) finishing just ahead of Lorna (41:10 and 5th Senior Female) with Margaret 12th O/60 in 58:40.
