Cameron Boyek ran his best 1500m time of the season, and a new personal best of 3m35.51s, when winning the fastest race of nine at the British Milers Club World Challenge meeting held at Stretford, Manchester on Saturday evening.
He won by just over two seconds from Harrogate’s George Coutie, with Eritrean Athlete Brhane Gebrebrhan a few strides behind in third place.
In the process he also broke Nick McCormick's 20 year-old club record of 3m35.74s.
In the sixth fastest of the 1500m events, Morpeth’s Josh Fiddaman clocked a season’s best of 3m50.17s, when finishing fourth.
Two Morpeth Harriers faced the starter in the fastest of two 5000m events.
Phil Winkler finished 14th, producing new figures of 14m21.80s, taking four seconds off his previous best, set in 2023 at nearby Sport City.
One place behind Winkler was club colleague Chris Coulson, who produced a time of 14m29.41s.
