There was some rapid racing at the Bridges of Tyne event, held on Newcastle Quayside. In an exciting exhibition of pace, three Morpeth Harriers ran in the U13 race over a distance of one mile. Hector Ford Hutchinson took a fine 2nd place (5.31), Mason Ellison crafted a swift 5th place (5m.39s) and William Fawcett blitzed his way around for 6th (5m.49s). Joseph Fawcett delivered an impressive 5m.13s to finish 3rd in the O13 race.
In the senior 5 mile race, Sam Hancox was, again, right at the front end and grafted hard for a Podium Place. He finished 3rd in 25m.38s, thirty seconds or so down on Tyne Bridge Harrier winner Jarlath McKenna. Andrew Mirfield stuck to the task to finish well in 12th place (27m.35s) and David Stabler a little further way back clocking 29m.09s for 34th (6th M45). Lauren Herkes (5th F35) crossed the line in 35m.59s and Sophie Harrigan was only a minute behind in 36m.34s (7th F35).
